As part of the “Building Inspiration: 21st Century Libraries Initiative” the Free Library of Philadelphia renovated four of its library locations in 2017. Anmar was the electrical contractor on the Marrero project location, where upgrades were done to lighting and electrical systems. This included power for adding an elevator, light design for a “living room,” teen space, computer lab, mentoring space, expanded children’s area, and upgraded staff workroom. Anmar was responsible for handling and storing several original chandeliers during the refurbishing process. The project was funded by a partnership between the public and private sectors, including a $25 million gift from the William Penn Foundation.
