Project Description

Project Name: Temple University Pearson McGonigle Hall
General Contractor: Hunter Roberts Construction Group
Owner: Temple University

This project consisted of a renovation and addition to the pre-existing, 225,000 square foot Temple University recreation building from 1968. For the renovation portion, the outside, concrete porch area was converted into a 15,000 square foot, glass-enclosed mezzanine. This area contained a rock-climbing wall, cardiovascular workout room, and 12,000 square foot of retail space. The building also received an additional third floor which was constructed atop the existing footprint and houses recreational basketball courts, office suites for Campus Recreation, multi-purpose room for physical therapy and personal training, two Division 1 basketball practice courts and coaches’ suites. The rest of the building received an overall upgrade for lighting and ceiling fixtures.
