The Frances E. Willard Elementary School located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia was opened for classes in fall of 2010. This was a long awaited building for the neighborhood, which was in desperate need of a new school. The City of Philadelphia spent $30 million to build this school, which accommodates 850 students in grades kindergarten through 5th, within its 29 classrooms. The school also contains a cafeteria, gym, auditorium, library, science and computer labs, two play areas, and art studio.
